Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Uttarakhand, India

From Dehradun airport, it takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach Rishikesh from the airport.

From Indira airport, it usually takes 6–7 hours, depending on traffic.

We can arrange transportation for you at a cost.

For booking transportation, please share your travel details in advance.

Arrival by taxi

The most common and preferred way is to take a taxi or hire a private car from Delhi to Rishikesh.

The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours, depending on the traffic and road conditions.

Arrival by train

Rishikesh has its own railway station, but it is a small station with limited connectivity.

The nearest major railway station is Haridwar, which is well-connected to Delhi by train.

From Haridwar, you can take a taxi, bus, or shared auto-rickshaw to reach Rishikesh, which is approximately 20 kilometres away.

Arrival by bus

Depending on the time of the day your flight arrives in Delhi, you can avail of Volvo buses that transfer you from Delhi to Rishikesh.

However, please note that these buses generally stop running after 9 p.m.

If you arrive at Nepali Farm by bus, we can also arrange a taxi pickup from there.

Seasonal information

Cool and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 8°C to 20°C.

Light woolens or sweaters are recommended, especially for early mornings and evenings.

Summer (May – June)

Warm to hot weather, with temperatures between 25°C and 40°C. Light, breathable clothing is best.

Carry a hat, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Monsoon (July – August)

The rainy season brings lush greenery and cooler air, though showers can be heavy at times.

An umbrella or lightweight raincoat is useful.

Some outdoor activities may be limited, but the natural beauty is at its peak.

Students can apply for an e-Tourist Visa, which is generally recommended for short yoga retreats in Rishikesh.

The process is simple and can be completed online through the official Government visa website.

Once approved, students can travel to India and join their retreat without any difficulty.

There are no refunds, credits, or transfers available for cancellations after the start date of any Yoga Teacher Training Course or Retreat. Payment: Please carry cash in any currency (preferred). Alternatively, a 5% transaction fee applies to PayPal and 10% swipe machine payments. Standard transaction fees apply to other modes of payment. No adjustment in accommodation for late arrivals or early departures; the course package fee remains unchanged. All package charges are non-refundable, non-changeable, and non-transferable once the student joins the course. Course fees, including the deposit, are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person, but can be transferred to another date or future course with Shiva Yoga. Travel insurance expenditures and flight tickets are not included in the TTC fee.
